My name is Dinh Nho Thai, I come from Vietnam . I graduated in College of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. In October 2003, I came to Japan for my further study at Osaka University. In September 2005, I graduated my master degree in Special English Course, and after passing PhD entrance examination I have attended to International program of frontier biotechnology at Osaka University. I have performed the research in Metabolic Engineering Lab under the advanced supervision of professor Shimizu, with the topic: “Adaptation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae to high ethanol concentration”
I like the motto of Osaka University “Live Locally, Grow Globally”. Thanks to internet and my friends who previously studied at Osaka University, I know that there is a special English program in biotechnology for graduate students. In additional, there are many essential and interesting programs and event for international students in Osaka University, such as: accommodation support, sport festivals, culture exchange, field trips…. Those are reasons for choosing Osaka University as a place for my graduate study.
I have impressed with the weather, people and society in Japan , especial in Osaka area. In here, there are four distinguished seasons with kind, friendly and hard-working people in safe and traditional society. Beside the study and research, my hobbies are playing chess and sports (i.e. football and badminton).
