ATEFEH ALIPOUR

My name is Atefeh Alipour born on 1982 at Amol, Iran.

I grew up on the north part of Iran , near the Caspian Sea. My town is very similar to Osaka in weather. I'm graduated in Horticulture Science from Mazandaran University and now studying in international course of Frontier Biotechnology in BIE SEI research group at Dynamic Cell Biology laboratory (Fukui lab), Osaka University. We studying about genetic improvement of Jatropha curcus, one of the non-edible oil plants recently used its oil as a biodiesel.

I have been living in Osaka for almost a year now. Japan especially Osaka has a very nice nature. Viewing dense green mountains, sandy beaches and beautiful ponds is very interesting for me and these led to feel that I am living in my home city. Also Japanese people are very kind and helpful to foreigners in various situations. In academic situation all member of laboratory working as a members of same body is very interesting and I learned more about team work here. So I am a really lucky to choice Japan for studying. I thank God for giving me this opportunity.

I am living in Mino city. There are remarkable amount of temples in our prefecture and neighbors located on beautiful nature. I like these historic places and try to visit most of them.

Regardless if you are a fan of sea foods or not, I think the best place in the world to enjoy the variety and quality of delicious foods is here. But I like Japanese sweets such as Omochi more.

In another view, Studying in Osaka University turned out to be the ideal way to meet new people and learn more about different cultures especially in my course that students are from different countries.

Only my problem is filling many official forms need knowing Kanji but hopefully my Japanese labmates and staff help me to solve it.
